Carey players part of Fostoria all-star game

FOSTORIA — Five Carey football players will play of the West as part of the 34th annual Sunny Farms Landfill East-West All-Star Football Game at 7 p.m. Saturday at Fostoria Memorial Stadium. The Blue Devils’ Garrett Billock, Devon Orwick, Xaxi Boes, Jon Racheter and Gavin Woods are among the 85 graduated seniors from 29 different schools slated to take part.

Rogers Lake hosting free trap shoots

SYCAMORE — The Wyandot County Pheasants Forever and Rogers Lake Conservation Club are sponsoring free youth trap shoots for boys and girls 18 and younger at 6 p.m. June 29 and July 13 at Rogers Lake, 1748 Ohio 103, Sycmaore.

Black Marlins open season with wins

TIFFIN — The Upper Sandusky Black Marlins summer swim teams defeated the Tiffin YMCA to open the season Wednesday at Harrison Smith Park. The Black Marlins girls defeated Tiffin, 238-112, while the boys were 223-76 winners.

Shoot-A-Way owner inducted into hoops HOF

Upper Sandusky resident John Joseph recently was inducted as a contributor to the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. As the owner of Shoot-A-Way, Joseph has sold more than 10,000 Shoot-A-Ways across the country and more than 21,000 “Guns” are being used by schools to help improve their shooting faster since it was created in 1998.
