Grothaus leads Carey JV to win

NEW WASHINGTON — Dylan Grothaus shot a 45 to medal and lead Carey to victory in a junior varsity golf quad match Thursday at Cranberry Hills Golf Course. McKain Miller added a 47 for the Blue Devils, who shot a 185.

Falcons win tri

KENTON — Riverdale was first and Ridgemont was second in a golf tri-match that included Calvary Christian at Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton on Thursday afternoon. The Falcons shot a 191, while Ridgemont was next with a 203 and Calvary Christian came in with a 217.

Carey tops Seneca East to cap unbeaten dual year

TIFFIN — Carey wrapped up an undefeated dual season both in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference and overall with a 162-168 victory against Seneca East on Wednesday at Clinton Heights Golf Course. Marcus Miller shot a 1-over-par 36 to earn medalist honors, and Trey Bame shot a 37 for the Blue Devils (14-0, 8-0 N10).

USV tops Riverdale, 182-211

ARLINGTON — Brady Hipsher shot a 38 to lead Upper Scioto Valley to a 182-211 victory against Riverdale in a non-conference boys golf match Wednesday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Andrew Kuenzli paced the Falcons (5-11) with a 42.

Redskins top Falcons in 3

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Arcadia defeated Riverdale, 25-12, 25-14, 25-10, in a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball match Wednesday. Jessica Johnston paced the Falcons (0-8, 0-4 BVC) with five kills, while Tayler Ashburn had three kills and a pair of aces.

Warriors hold off Rams in 4 sets

Although Upper Sandusky did not come away a winner Tuesday night, the Rams proved how good they can be. They matched Mohawk point for point, but the Warriors were able — and perhaps fortunate — to come away 25-22, 25-23, 17-25, 29-27 winners in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference match.
