Royals take shootout over Eagles

BUCYRUS — One of the most exciting see-saw games of the season saw Wynford come out on top 44-36 against Colonel Crawford Friday night in a thrilling Northern 10 Athletic Conference showdown. In a game that featured two ties and six lead changes, Wynford finally turned the corner with three fourth-quarter touchdowns to retain the Iron Plow trophy.

Riverdale rolls in shutout victory

VANLUE — The Riverdale offense scored all six times it had the ball Friday night, defeating Vanlue, 41-0, in a Blanchard Valley Conference football game. Aidan Loveridge carried the ball for a 73-yard touchdown on the first offensive play for the Falcons to set the tone.

Rams win to move up in standings

BUCYRUS — Upper Sandusky and Wynford met in the middle for a volleyball match. The two teams entered Thursday night’s contest in a three-way tie with Colonel Crawford for fourth in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference at 3-3, and after each played a four-set match Tuesday, they both had played one bad, early set.

Upper edges Hopewell-Loudon

Brett Montgomery shot a 1-under par 35 to lead Upper Sandusky to a 170-175 victory against Hopewell-Loudon on Thursday in a non-conference boys golf match at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Trevor Clifford added a 43, Brett Bianchi scored a 45, and Isaiah Washburn finished with a 47 for the Rams (8-2).

Mohawk rolls to 5th straight win

SYCAMORE — Mohawk rolled to a 25-8, 25-10, 25-19 victory against Ridgedale in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Thursday. Madi Chester paced the attack with eight kills, while Kaylee Ward had six, and Emma Myers-Huffman and Destini Oler had five each.

Reyes’ 3 goals lead Ada past Upper

Christopher Reyes had a hat trick to help Ada defeat Upper Sandusky, 4-0, in a boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Thursday. Reyes scored two goals in the first half — one less than eight minutes into the match and one only 3:13 before halftime.

Van Buren erases halftime deficit

VAN BUREN — Van Buren quickly erased a halftime deficit and scored a late insurance goal to take a 3-1 victory against Riverdale on Thursday. Taylor Bacon’s goal with 15:23 left in the first half, assisted by goalkeeper Ethan Shane, gave the Falcons (1-5-1, 0-1-1 North Central Ohio Soccer Association) a 1-0 lead.
