CAREY — Carey’s boys and girls cross country teams each enjoyed a home victory in the Blue Devil Run on Thursday. The boys placed five in the top 10 to run away from second-place Elmwood, 22-55, while the girls had four finishers in the top nine to aide a 25-65 edge over North Baltimore.

Upper Sandusky forced a fourth set, but unbeaten Liberty-Benton finished it off there with a 25-11, 25-18, 25-27, 25-16 victory in a non-conference volleyball match Thursday night.

BUCYRUS — Sophomore Brett Montgomery earned medalist honors and clinched Northern 10 Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors for the second straight season as Upper Sandusky defeated Mohawk, 165-182, and Bucyrus (203) on Thursday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus.

BUCYRUS — Down 2-0, Bucyrus rallied on the road to defeat rival Wynford, 19-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-12 on Thursday night in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match.

NEW WASHINGTON — Buckeye Central held onto its Northern 10 Athletic Conference lead by completing a season sweep of Mohawk with a 25-21, 25-10, 25-14 victory Thursday.

CAREY — Sydney Kin had 13 kills on 30-of-31 hitting to lead Carey to a 25-20, 25-20, 25-16 victory against Colonel Crawford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Thursday.

VAN BUREN — Van Buren scored seven times in the first half of a 10-0 victory against Upper Sandusky on Thursday in a boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association match.

LIMA — Alaina Behnke scored a goal in each half to lead Lima Shawnee to a 2-0 victory over Upper Sandusky on Thursday in a non-conference girls soccer match.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Bluffton scored a goal early and late in the first half and took a 2-0 victory against Riverdale in a non-conference boys soccer match Thursday. Luke Young scored 1:59 into the match, and Jesse Montel scored with 2:16 left in the first half.

BUCYRUS — Buckeye Central defeated Wynford, 217-248, and Mohawk (257) in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls tri-match Thursday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus.
