Safety blotter: August 15, 2019

A Forest man was traveling eastbound on Ohio 294 near CH 109 when he struck a deer that entered the roadway, causing minor damage the morning of Aug. 12. Monica L. Vinicky, Delaware, was transported from the Cleveland Pre-release Center in Cleveland to the Wyandot County Courthouse for a hearing on judicial release the morning of Aug. 13.

Safety Blotter: August 14, 2019

Audrey R. Horner, Upper Sandusky, was cited for seat belt violation (driver) at the intersection of McConnell and Warpole streets the afternoon of Aug. 10. An Upper Sandusky woman reported unwanted contact from a man on the 100 block of Broadview Street the evening of Aug. 10. The responding officer made contact with the man and advised him not to contact the woman or her daughter.

Safety blotter: August 13, 2019

An Upper Sandusky woman reported a lost check book the afternoon of Aug. 9. The woman said she lost it somewhere in downtown Upper Sandusky and she had contacted her bank. A caller requested a welfare check on his daughter on the 600 block of Highland Parkway the evening of Aug. 9. The daughter was not home and the responding officer left a door hanger at her residence. The daughter later called the office and advised all was well and she had called her father.

Safety blotter: August 12, 2019

An officer on patrol observed two possible subjects riding a hoverboard on North Warpole Street near West. Wyandot Avenue the early morning of Aug. 9. Both subjects were advised of a city ordinance prohibiting riding in the street. An officer gave an Upper Sandusky man a ride home from the Wyandot Memorial Hospital emergency room the early morning of Aug. 9.

Jonathan Rieser, Harpster, was cited for expired plates on the 400 block of North Warpole Street the early morning of Aug. 6. Jaclyn M. Schmuker, Nevada, was cited for possession of marijuana at Harrison Smith Park the afternoon of Aug. 6.

Safety blotter: August 8, 2019

Kyle L. Dawson, Kenton, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash on Ohio 67 near TH 94 the morning of Aug. 2. A trailer that was being towed suffered disabling damage. An Upper Sandusky man reported theft from a vehicle the afternoon of Aug. 2.

Safety blotter: August 7, 2019

An officer assisted an Upper Sandusky woman with a vehicle lockout on the 400 block of North Warpole Street the afternoon of Aug. 3. Brianne E. Settlemire, Mount Blanchard, was arrested by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant out of Upper Sandusky Municipal Court on an original charge of petty theft the night of Aug. 3.

Safety Blotter: August 5, 2019

Salome Gonzalez, Bronx, New York, was cited for failure to control after a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 23 near CH 42 the morning of July 26. Gonzalez was traveling northbound on U.S. 23 when he failed to negotiate a right turn onto CH 42, driving off the left side of the roadway on CH 42, striking a depressed ditch embankment and then a tree.

Upper Sandusky Police Department An Upper Sandusky man reported vandalism to a residence on the 600 block of South Eighth Street the afternoon of Aug. 1. The man was advised to put cameras up as a security measure and the home was added to a house check list.
