Two Upper Sandusky women sustained incapacitating injuries following a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Ohio 53 just north of Ohio 67. Patricia J. Brown, 81, was traveling southbound on Ohio 53 at 8:16 a.m. when she failed to see a vehicle driven by Theresa Corfman, 59, that was stopped in traffic for a work zone area being set up by Ohio Department of Transportation workers.

MARSEILLES — Marseilles Village Council members discussed the upcoming chicken barbecue fundraiser during its regular meeting Tuesday. The chicken barbecue is set for April 23, and tickets are available from Henry Weaver, RoseAnn Weaver, Uhl Hensel, Deb Williams, Kenneth Arnold, Rick Arnold and Angle Back Tavern.

COLUMBUS — Fifteen Carey DECA students will advance to international competition after placing in the top four in qualifying events at the recent Ohio DECA Career Development Conference.

COLUMBUS — Upper Sandusky High School senior Gabriel Payne competed in the recent Ohio DECA state marketing competition in Columbus and finished in the top four in his event, principles of marketing management and administration.

Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church will broadcast Leadercast Live 2016, the largest one-day leadership event in the world, live from Atlanta from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 6. The event, broadcast to hundreds of locations around the world each year, brings together an array of recognized global leaders.

The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot counties is working in partnership with the Upper Sandusky Area Chamber of Commerce to host a drug-free workplace training event. The Workforce Solutions Workshop is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 19 at the Elks Lodge No. 83, 320 E. Wyandot Ave., and is free to attend.

Upper Sandusky automotive interior parts manufacturer M-TEK, located at 1111 N. Warpole St., recently changed its name to Kasai. A subsidiary of Kasai Kogyo Co. Ltd., the company made the change to align its brand with that of the parent company, a spokesperson said.

SYCAMORE — Sycamore Village Council received a request for the purchase of a new Ford truck during its regular meeting Tuesday. Village administrator Chuck Clark said he received information on the price of a 2016 Ford F250 regular cab 4-by-4 with a 137-inch wheelbase through Wagner Ford, Carey, which will honor state bid pricing.

HARPSTER — Salt deposits from the grain elevator that residents said have been coating their cars, windows and other property for the last six months soon no longer will be a problem in Harpster. During council’s regular meeting on Tuesday night, Mayor Jim Robertson said Morton Salt had canceled its contract with Interstate Commodities LLC and is finished unloading salt there.
