County prepares for summer work

The Wyandot County commissioners met Thursday to discuss the upcoming start of the summer youth work program. Jason Fagan, director of the Wyandot County Department of Job and Family Services, and Laura Gier, fiscal supervisor for Wyandot County JFS, were in attendance and presented the expenses for foster care maintenance from the children services fund for the month of April.

1st responder uninjured in deer accident

TYMOCHTEE TOWNSHIP — No one was injured when a Sycamore ambulance crashed into a deer that ran into the roadway while en route to an emergency call early Wednesday morning. The vehicle driven by local first responder Jason A. Romanko, of Sycamore, struck a deer while traveling northbound on CH 35 south of TH 11 in Tymochtee Township at 6:05 a.m., according to a report received Friday by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.

Wynford looks to Carey for bargain items

BUCYRUS — Superintendent Fred Fox and the Wynford Local School District have gone bargain hunting. Fox and other administrators recently visited Carey to take a look at some of the items the school is getting rid of before moving into a new building for classes this fall, Fox said at Thursday night’s school board meeting.
