The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife recently conducted an electrofishing survey for black bass, including largemouth and smallmouth bass, at Upper Sandusky Reservoir No. 2.

Producers enrolled in Agriculture Risk Coverage or Price Loss Coverage must protect all cropland and non-cropland acres on the farm from wind and water erosion and noxious weeds. Producers who sign ARC county or individual contracts and PLC contracts agree to effectively control noxious weeds on the farm according to sound agricultural practices.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Seven Riverdale FFA members recently attended State FFA Convention. On the way to Columbus, they toured Keynes Brothers Elevator, which collects only food-grade wheat.

FINDLAY — A week of learning awaits teens at the Ohio Forestry and Wildlife Conservation Camp, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Forestry. The experience is June 12-17 at FFA Camp Muskingum on Leesville Lake in Carroll County.

Upper Sandusky High School senior Emma Smith took home 11 awards to lead the class of 2016 during the annual awards ceremony Monday night. Smith won the Charles and Jean Gottfried Scholarship from the Wyandot County Community Foundation, along with the Floyd Hays Art Scholarship, Ohio State University Alumni Scholarship and Elks/OSU Big Nut Scholarship.

Communities in Wyandot County will celebrate American servicemen and women this Memorial Day, an American holiday observed annually on the last Monday of May. Upper Sandusky’s Memorial Day activities include a parade downtown, followed by a program at Harrison Smith Park.

SYCAMORE — “Cautiously optimistic.” That is how Mohawk Local Schools treasurer Rhonda Feasel described her view of the district’s finances after presenting her five-year forecast to the board of education at its May meeting Monday night.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Four valedictorians will lead the class of 2016 at Riverdale High School during commencement at 2 p.m. Sunday in the K-12 gymnasium. Karlee Birchfield, Taylor Kuenzli, Tiffany Penwell and Jenna Thomas all posted a 4.0 GPAs to receive the honors.

SYCAMORE — The Sycamore parks committee will meet at 6 p.m. today in council chambers to discuss summer pool operations. The meeting will be followed by a regular meeting of Sycamore Village Council at 7 p.m.
