With their bright orange T-shirts donated by a local businessman, a group of fourth graders at South Elementary School marched to the downtown area for a store visit after using a school year’s worth of borrowed items to get a glimpse into the past. Alan Lortz’s fourth grade class at South has been studying antiques since the beginning of the school year.

SYCAMORE — Sycamore Village Council announced Joe Weininger Field as the name of a new coach pitch ball field at American Legion Park on Tuesday during its regular meeting.

Members of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic parish are hosting a car, truck, motorcycle and tractor show to benefit and support repairs and restorations to both parish sites. The event will take place at the St. Mary Center parking lot in Kirby on June 4.
