BUCYRUS — The sixth graders at Wynford Elementary gained recognition on social media when a video the class created was featured on the Facebook page of the Bobby Bones Show, a national country music morning radio show.

The staff and residents of Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday participated in Red Nose Day, a day that aims to bring awareness to the issue of childhood poverty.

The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners met Thursday to discuss bids for repair and restoration projects around the county.

The Singin at the Shell Series begins Saturday at Harrison Smith Park, 525 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky. Jacob Reel, Mary St. Claire and Ed and Deb Damphouse are scheduled to perform.

NEW YORK — Mike Wolfe, Frank Fritz and their team from “American Pickers” are returning to Ohio, with plans to film episodes of the hit series throughout the state this summer. “American Pickers” is a documentary series that explores the world of antique “picking” on History.

MARION — The 2016 Marion Popcorn Festival’s Poppin’ Scavenger Quest is slated for June 25. The quest will begin on the steps of the Harding Memorial, with the final destination at the Marion American Red Cross office.

The Upper Sandusky Lions Club began making improvements to the playground designated for small children at Harrison Smith Park on Friday and Saturday despite the rainy weather conditions. The renovation is the first of many future projects to update the condition of the park.

The Wyandot County Historical Society recently kicked off its 2016 season with the Dine with the Wyandots dinner and the opening of the museum, Overland Inn and Indian Mill State Memorial, the latter of which has been undergoing renovations during the winter and early spring.

SYCAMORE — Volunteers have been busy planning the start of the Fifth Street Farmers Market, a new monthly endeavor in the village of Sycamore, and state law will require some vendors to purchase licenses to sell food.

The arts are coming back to Harrison Smith Park in a festival and antique show June 18. The Wyandot Arts Council will host the Art in the Park and Antique Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
