Mich. man cited in construction zone crash

A Michigan man was transported to Wyandot Memorial Hospital early last Friday morning after a two-vehicle accident in a construction zone on U.S. 23 just north of the U.S. 30 junction. Laron C. Moore, 26, was taken by Upper Sandusky Emergency Medical Services to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

Damond E. Hairston Jr., Columbus, was arrested for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on U.S. 23 the evening of May 22. Hairston was cited for speed, driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana.

USCL board OKs contingent worker, repairs

The Upper Sandusky Community Library Board of Trustees approved a contingent worker, heard an update on repairs to the air conditioning system and discussed ways to continue improving the library’s reach on social media during a regular meeting Thursday.

The Wyandot County Community Foundation now is accepting applications for its 2016 grant program. The community foundation will award a number of small grants to Wyandot County 501(c)3 organizations, schools or government units to support their programs.
