Crawford SWCD to host pasture management clinic

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District will host a pasture clinic June 21 for area farmers and landowners interested in learning how to improve their grazing and pasture management skills. The field day will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a light meal, followed by the clinic for beginning and seasoned grazers or pasture owners.

Riverdale FFA tours dairy farm

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Before school ended for the year, the Riverdale FFA took the school’s fourth graders to 3 Flags Dairy to teach them about what is done on dairy farms. The dairy is located in Forest and owned and operated by the Kruiter family, which has two children in the FFA program.

Carey BOE prepares for move

CAREY — The new Carey school will house a lot of history from the old building. Carey High School Principal Peter Cole informed school board members of plans to move items and traditions from the building on East South Street to the new school site on South Vance Street during a regular meeting Monday.

Man convicted of GSI involving minor released from prison

A Sycamore man was released from the custody of the state of Ohio on Monday after a judicial release was granted by Judge Kate Aubry in the Wyandot County Common Pleas Court. Richard F. Orr II was released from the custody of Chillicothe Correctional Institution, where he had been incarcerated since August 2014 after pleading guilty to gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony.
