Tennis campers

A total of 10 boys and girls took part in the Upper Sandusky High School tennis camp last week to learn the sports’ basic techniques.

Kionte K. Whatley, Columbus, was transported to the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office the morning of June 17. He was arrested on a federal warrant out of the U.S. Marshall’s Office in West Virginia for allegedly stealing more than half a million dollars in property.

Bryan E. Coppler, Upper Sandusky, was cited for seat belt violation and given a warning for speed the morning of June 5 on East Wyandot Avenue near Evergreen Lane. Patricia A. Cox, Upper Sandusky, was warned for stop sign violation at East Church and North Fifth streets the morning of June 5.

Benjamin A. Aicher, Bucyrus, charged by the sheriff with possession of a dangerous drug instrument, pleaded guilty, found guilty. Benjamin A. Lawn maintenance ordinance gets Upper Sandusky residents talking

A proposed lawn maintenance ordinance in the city of Upper Sandusky is causing an uproar on social media and discussions within the community as it heads toward its second reading at the city council meeting Tuesday. Upper Sandusky City Council approved the first reading of the proposed ordinance June 20 in a narrow 3-2 vote as 11 members of the public visited to share their thoughts about the legislation.

Veteran takes Flag City Honor Flight

A former county commissioner and current rural Upper Sandusky farmer recently participated in the Flag City Honor Flight, a free trip for veterans to visit the memorials around Washington, D.C. It wasn’t Jim Leslie’s first time visiting the nation’s capital, but this time felt different.
