Staff needed for Sycamore pool to open

SYCAMORE — Only three days remain for applications to be submitted to the village of Sycamore for lifeguards and pool managers for the upcoming swimming season, and the village still is without the number required to open the pool.

A caller in the 5000 block of TH 36, Sycamore, reported he knocked a candle over after falling asleep and burnt his hand the evening of April 17. A man in the 100 block of Cass Street, Wharton, reported the afternoon of April 17 he was receiving threats from a known subject.

Riverdale BOE considers HSAs

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale Board of Education heard about benefits of health savings accounts for its employees Monday night. Denise Mallery, Wells Fargo’ liaison to the Hardin County’s Educational Service Center consortium, told the board that while there are many misconceptions about health savings accounts, most employees who start one find they like them and want to continue them even until they retire.

No one hurt in rural house fire

Area firefighters responded to a house fire in rural Upper Sandusky after lightning apparently struck a residence in a strong rainstorm early this morning. Homeowner Peggy Yehl said no one was injured in the early morning blaze in the 14000 block of CH 64.

Forest teen found

ADA — A Forest teenager who was missing for three days has been found, according to the Ada Police Department. Chief Mike Harnishfeger told the Times at 2:50 p.m. Monday that Elizabeth “Lizzie” Saracson, a Riverdale eighth-grader, has been located and is safe. The girl went missing early Saturday morning from her sister’s house in Ada. More information will be …

Safety Blotter: April 25, 2016

A missing juvenile was reported the morning of April 16 in the 200 block of Kilbourn Street, Sycamore. A deputy discovered there was a miscommunication between the parents and the child had spent the night at a friend’s house.
