Best-selling author visits Mohawk

SYCAMORE — A Brooklyn-based New York Times best-selling author and illustrator of graphic novels visited Mohawk School on Tuesday, giving tips for drawing to kindergarteners through seniors and sharing his upbeat presentation with students and staff.

Fate of Sycamore pool to be decided next week

SYCAMORE — The Sycamore parks committee on Tuesday decided to wait less than a week to allow more applications to come in for the pool before council’s final vote on whether to open it this summer season. Mayor Vicki Weininger told the committee, made up of council members Dave Myers, Dawn Needles and Tony Flood, that the village received just two applications for pool lifeguards and managers by the deadline Sunday.
