Public invited to July 4 event

HARPSTER — The public is invited to attend the 53rd Fourth of July observance at John Green Cemetery, near Harpster, at noon July 4. For this 53rd rededication celebration, Elizabeth “Liz” Barker will read the Declaration of Independence.

Forest library plans events

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library will host the Armstrong Air and Space Museum as part of its summer reading program at 10:30 a.m. June 28 at Forest Gormley Park. The program will be on astronaut fitness.

American Red Cross offers first aid, CPR/AED courses

FINDLAY — The American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio, based in Findlay, has announced a schedule of safety classes set for this summer. Each year, more than 5 million people learn how to save a life in American Red Cross training classes, and area residents can join the ranks by taking a class in July.

Hannah and Devin Kelly, of Upper Sandusky, are the parents of a boy, Elijah “Eli” Kelly. He was born at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

Kimberly Danner and Stephen Beach, both of Sycamore, are the parents of a boy, Bentlee Levi Matthew Beach. He was born at 2:14 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

WAHOO to host annual field day

WHARTON — The Wyandot Area Ham Operators Organization will join other ham radio operators across the U.S. participating in an emergency simulation drill on Saturday and Sunday at Wharton Community Park. Despite the internet, cellphones, email and modern communications, every year whole regions find themselves in the dark.
