Red Cross urges blood donations

TOLEDO — The American Red Cross is urging eligible donors to give blood and platelets this fall to help restock the shelves following a significant summer shortage to ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need.

USCL releases October calendar

The Upper Sandusky Community Library has released its calendar of activities and programs for October. The library will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 12-5 p.m. Oct. 7 in the lower level, and it will be closed Oct. 10 for Columbus Day.

Evangelist to visit Nevada UMC

NEVADA — Saving Grace International Ministries Inc. will present the “Taking a Stand” tour at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Nevada United Methodist Church, 317 N. Main St. The event will feature evangelist Angelo Gonzales, a native of Ohio who now lives in Kansas, and the worship rock band Flee, of Newark.

Boat safety course set

CRESTLINE — The Crawford Park District will host a boating safety/beginner canoeing class at 3 p.m. Sunday at Neff Reservoir on Ohio 98. Pre-registration for the free course is required by Sept. 24 by calling 419-683-9000.

Escape rooms at MCL

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Community Library will offer an “Escape Room Challenge” on Saturday and Oct. 1. Escape rooms have become a popular game in the U.S.

Workshops coming up

The Wyandot County Parent Mentor program will sponsor three workshops in the upcoming months for families of loved ones with disabilities. On Wednesday, Miranda Inglis will present “Pure Living by Miranda: Reducing Chemical Body Burden” from 6-7:30 p.m.
