Local students serving as admission ambassador at Heidelberg TIFFIN — Sarah Parker, of McCutchenville, and Sara Gebhardt, of Bucyrus, are two of 44 admission ambassadors who connect with prospective students and their families at Heidelberg University.

1,000 books

Kiel Rothlisberger, 4, a daughter of Aric and Calli Rothlisberger, has completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Mohawk Community Library. Kiel started the program May 8, 2014 and was read 1,000 books by Saturday.

Family Pilgrimage Day to include cookout after worship

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, will continue the tradition of the annual Family Pilgrimage Day on Sunday. Pastoral care for families and assistance for families to grow in faith together has been a priority of Pope Francis, according to a press release from OLC.

UF plans wellness fair

FINDLAY — The University of Findlay will host its annual health and wellness fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. The event, to be held in the Alumni Memorial Union on Frazer Street, is free and open to the public.

Worship band to visit Nevada

NEVADA — Saving Grace International Ministries Inc. will present the “Taking a Stand” tour at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Nevada United Methodist Church, 317 N. Main St. The event will feature the worship rock band Flee, of Newark, and Angelo Gonzales, a native of Ohio who now lives in Kansas.
