DeMolay planning open house

Upper Sandusky DeMolay will host an informational open house at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Upper Sandusky Masonic Center, 188 W. Johnson St. The meeting is open to the public and will include a brief presentation on the chapter and a time for questions.

Memorial balloon launch to be at Harrison Smith

Parents and families who have had children die are invited to a memorial balloon release from 4-6 p.m. Aug. 14 at Harrison Smith Park. Sponsored by The Compassionate Friends of Wyandot County, the annual balloon release will take place at the small red shelter house behind the pond at the park.

Boating safety class planned

CRESTLINE — A boating safety and beginner canoeing class is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bucyrus Neff Reservoir, located on Ohio 98. The program, sponsored by the Crawford Park District, will begin with a boating safety lesson, followed by a canoe float around the reservoir.

School supplies to be distributed Tuesday

Supplies collected during a school supply drive for local students sponsored by Open Door Resource Center will be distributed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Parents and guardians of local youth are invited to pick up items at Open Door, located at 212 W. Wyandot Ave.
