Riley Jo Bloomfield

Kendra J. Bloomfield, of Sycamore, is the mother of a girl, Riley Jo Bloomfield. She was born at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20.75 inches long. The maternal grandparents are Penny Lane, Sycamore, and Larry Bloomfield, Garrison, Kentucky.

Local club members attend 89th state music convention

FAIRBORN — The Ohio Federation of Music Clubs celebrated its 100th year at the 89th state convention this past weekend at Holiday Inn in Fairborn. District 4 attendees included Norma Frederick of Kenton, Dorothy Blackburn of Upper Sandusky and Lee Ann Derugen and Ednita and Gabriel Vaflor, all of Marion.

Head start on literacy

Tanner Pahl has completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Dorcas Carey Public Library. The program is geared toward newborns through children entering kindergarten.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Aug. 11 and is correct as of that date: Pets reported as missing since the previous report that have not been found include a black neutered male Labrador, a neutered male Siamese cat, a male yellow Lab, a black and white male heeler, a female calico cat, a long-hair black and white female cat, a female Siamese cat, a male gray tiger and white horse, a black neutered male Lab-shepherd and a neutered male dark tiger cat.

Firelands selects site manager

TIFFIN — Firelands Regional Medical Center recently announced Dr. Michelle Clinger, a licensed professional clinical counselor, as the new site director for Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services of Seneca and Wyandot counties.

USCL to host free clothing swap

The Upper Sandusky Community Library’s free clothing swap will return to the library in September. The twice-yearly event is set up like a garage sale, except it is free to participate, according to a press release from the USCL.

Annual balloon release slated

Parents and families who have had children die are invited to a memorial balloon release from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Harrison Smith Park. Sponsored by The Compassionate Friends of Wyandot County, the annual balloon release will take place at the small red shelter house behind the pond at the park.

Hensel family reunites

HARPSTER — The Orlando Hensel family recently gathered in the basement of Harpster United Methodist Church with 48 members in attendance. Clarence Hensel lead the group in prayer.
