Humane Society: October 4, 2017

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a black neutered male cat, a black spayed female cat and a female tiger-calico cat.

Health department encourages vaccines

The Wyandot County Health Department encourages people to protect themselves and their families this season with an annual flu vaccine for everyone who is 6 months of age and older. While the timing of flu season is unpredictable, seasonal flu activity can begin as early as October and last as late as May.

New book club meets at USCL this week

Upper Sandusky Community Library has two book clubs for community members who like to gather and discuss their love of books. Common Readers has been meeting for more than 20 years and has a list of classic, modern and nonfiction books that they have read.

Fantasy of Lights seeks sponsors, volunteers

The 21st annual Upper’s Winter Fantasy of Lights is set for Dec. 1 through Dec. 30 with a Fantasy Walk scheduled for Nov. 30 to kick off the 30-day event. The 2017 charitable recipient is Dorcas Carey Public Library and the feature display is “Arose Such a Ladder” sponsored by Upper Sandusky’s Fire Department.
