Nurse receives child car seat certification

Wyandot County Public Health Nurse Laura Hoepf, LPN, recently completed training and received certification through the National Child Passenger Safety Certification as a certified technician. The role of the certified technician is to provide car seat education and installation to parents and caregivers.

Speaker to lead prayer encounter

Nationally renowned speaker Dr. Terry Teykl will lead a prayer encounter seminar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at John Stewart United Methodist Church, located at 130 W. Johnson St., Upper Sandusky. The Prayer Encounter is a time of worship, teaching, ministry, prayer and fellowship.

OSU-Marion to host workshops

MARION — College students and their families can apply for federal and state financial aid for the 2018-19 school year beginning this month. While the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as FAFSA, process can be confusing, the Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College are partnering to offer free FAFSA Completion Workshops on the Marion campus.

Drug program slated at USHS

The Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School District safety team will share “The Drug Epidemic — Hitting Close to Home” at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Upper Sandusky High School auditorium. The Wyandot County METRICH team will gave a community question-and-answer session on the current drug epidemic in the community.
