FOREST — November Cut the Craft at the Forest-Jackson Public Library will be at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. today. Adults and teens are invited to make a vintage bulb snowman ornament.

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has announced Sears Woods State Nature Preserve will be closed Saturday for a controlled deer hunt sponsored by The Division of Natural Areas and Preserves and the Crawford Park District. The hunt is only open to previously selected hunters.

The Wyandot County Safe Communities Coalition recently reported the third fatal traffic accident of 2017, which is one more fatality than was recorded in all of 2016. The latest accident, which took place in October, adds to the trend of fatalities occurring around state route intersections in the county.

Upper grad inducted into honor society ADA — Mallroy Weininger, a 2015 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, recently was inducted into Tau Beta Pi, the oldest engineering honor society.

CAREY — The Our Lady of Consolation Volunteer Bakery, founded by the late Father Paul Faroh, is preparing for its pre-Thanksgiving bake sale by making dinner rolls and pumpkin pies. The bake sale, to be held the weekend before Thanksgiving, will be in honor of Father Paul, who died Oct. 28 after a brief illness.
