Humane Society: January 17, 2018

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Tuesday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a black male cat, a tan and white male pit bull-Lab mix puppy, a gray and white female Shepherd mix and a brown female Akita-husky-Lab mix.

Heidleberg bringing awareness to trafficking

TIFFIN — January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and Heidelberg University is planning a series of presentations the week of Jan. 22-25 to bring light to the issue, including a keynote talk by a long-term survivor who now works to assist rescued victims and families and educate the community about human trafficking.

Kick Winter Blues at WMH

Kick the Winter Blues will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. The panel discussion features several speakers, including Pharmacy Director Scott Gier, who will review symptoms of the winter blues and use of natural remedies and over-the-counter medications.

Blanchard Valley limiting young visitors

FINDLAY — Blanchard Valley Hospital and Bluffton Hospital have imposed visitor limitations based on the recent increase in flu and respiratory illness cases in the community. The limitation asks that all children age 14 and younger refrain from visiting the hospital for the time being.
