Megan and Austin Miller, Bucyrus, are the parents of a boy. Bentley Aiyden Miller was born at 5:08 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. She was 20.75 inches long and weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces.

AARP Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service. Free tax preparation being offered through the joint effort of the Wyandot County Council on Aging and Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church.

TIFFIN — January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and Heidelberg University is planning a series of presentations this week to bring light to the issue, including a keynote talk by a long-term survivor who now works to assist rescued victims and families and educate the community about human trafficking.

Open Door Resource Center has begun offering Getting Ahead classes for men and women in Wyandot County who are seeking to find solutions to life’s ongoing challenges: economic, social, physical and spiritual. In a Getting Ahead workshops, a group of six to 12 people meet to help one another take steps to improve their lives.

FINDLAY — Blanchard Valley Hospital and Bluffton Hospital have imposed visitor limitations based on the recent increase in flu and respiratory illness cases in the community. The limitation asks that all children age 14 and younger refrain from visiting the hospital for the time being.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Community Library is hosting a children’s winter reading program from Jan. 29 through Feb. 17. It begins at 6 p.m. Jan. 29 with a special appearance by Batman.

Our Lady of Consolation School honored its Beatitude Students of the Month for December. They received it for displaying, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied.”
