Star Wars parties to be held at library

CAREY — All Jedi knights and princesses are invited to a galaxy far, far away to celebrate a Star Wars party for first through third graders at 3:30 p.m. May 2, for children age 3 through kindergarten at 6:30 p.m. May 2 and for children in fourth through sixth grade at 3:30 p.m. May 3 at the Dorcas Carey Public Library, 236 E. Findlay St., Carey.

1,000 books

Tyson Logsdon recently completed the 1,000 Books before Kindergarten program at the Dorcas Carey Public Library, which offers the program for newborns up to school age. Each child receives a log for books to be recorded and special incentives are given along the way to 1,000. Submitted photo

Library offers technology

CAREY — The Dorcas Carey Public Library has even more free technology to offer patrons. In addition to public computers with internet access and free Wi-Fi, the library now offers Wi-Fi hotspots and a variety of E-readers for checkout.
