Council on Aging hosting Spring Bazaar this week

The Wyandot County Council on Aging is hosting its Spring Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Senior Connection in Upper Sandusky. Items available include kitchen wares, spring wreaths, home decor, baked goods and baby supplies. A rummage sale also will take place.

Ryleigh Jade McCann

SANDUSKY — Jamie and John McCann, of Wakeman, are the parents of a girl. Ryleigh Jade McCann was born at 10 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.

Storytime Station wrapping up

FOREST — Storytime Station at the Forest-Jackson Public Library will be on hiatus during the Summer Reading program and will resume in the fall. The last Storytime Station for the spring season is 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. today.

Humane Society: May 1, 2018

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a young buff color neutered male cat, a white neutered male cat, a female color point cat, a male brindle boxer, a brown female Shih Tzu that has been recently groomed and a black and tan shepherd.

COLUMBUS — Ohio women educators celebrated 80 years of strength and honoring the founder Annie Webb Blanton in recognizing her dream to unite, advance and stimulate women educators at the April 13-15 Delta Kappa Gamma Alpha Delta State Ohio Convention held at the Polaris Hilton Hotel.

Red Cross seeking blood donations

This May, the American Red Cross is calling for donors to give blood and platelets regularly to be prepared to meet the needs of patients in emergency situations. According to the National Trauma Institute, trauma accounts for approximately 41 million emergency department visits and 2 million hospital admissions each year.
