CAREY — The Knights of Columbus, in partnership with Our Lady of Consolation School, will sponsor a free-will donation spaghetti dinner, using Father Paul’s special sauce recipe, at 6 p.m. July 21 in the Shrine Cafeteria.

FINDLAY — The University of Findlay announced many area students to the dean’s list for the 2018 spring semester. Students must have a 3.5 GPA to be eligible. They are listed by hometown. Bucyrus: Nicole Cover, Austin Shutler and Cyle Skidmore.

A local musical group will be the featured guest at Mohawk Community Library at 6:30 p.m. Thursday as part of the summer reading program. The six-member group plays various musical instruments with Appalachian roots, including the mountain and hammered Dulcimer, wooden spoons, autoharp, penny whistle, band jammer and bowed psaltery.

TOLEDO — An emergency blood shortage is prompting the American Red Cross to issue an urgent call for eligible donors of all blood types — especially type O — to give now and help save lives. The Red Cross escalated its call for blood and platelet donors after a difficult Independence Day week for donations.

The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. has funding for necessary home repairs for those age 60 and older who qualify based on their combined monthly income. Types of home repairs include repairs to leaking roofs, furnace repair or replacement, wheelchair ramps, bathroom accessibility modifications and other necessary home repairs.
