Fantasy of Lights seeks sponsors, volunteers

The 21st annual Upper’s Winter Fantasy of Lights is set for Dec. 1 through Dec. 30 with a Fantasy Walk scheduled for Nov. 30 to kick off the 30-day event. The 2017 charitable recipient is Dorcas Carey Public Library and the feature display is “Arose Such a Ladder” sponsored by Upper Sandusky’s Fire Department.

Patriot’s Pen, Voice of Democracy contests open

CAREY — Commanders Dan Monday and Rodger Brodman of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts Nos. 3759 and 2842 announce the kick-off of the VFW’s annual Patriot’s Pen youth essay competition. Area students in sixth through eighth grades have the opportunity to compete and win thousands of dollars in national awards.

Alzheimer’s walk set for Sat.

TIFFIN — Tiffin area residents will join the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease at the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday. In 2016, the Walk in Tiffin raised over $76,000 contributing to more than $76 million raised nationwide for care, support and research efforts for those impacted by Alzheimer's.

Learn ‘Living with Diabetes’

The Wellness Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering its Living with Diabetes course to diabetics and their support persons from 5-8:30 p.m. Oct. 18-19 in the Bowman and Kirkland Conference Rooms on the hospital’s lower level.
