MARION — From a field of 14 contestants, Kendall Carter, age 5, was named Miss Wee Pop 2018 during competition held Sunday morning at River Valley High School.

School is starting back up and as kids are entering new grades, starting high school can be both exciting and scary. For me, I’m nervous about going to high school for the first time.

The Wellness Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering its Living with Diabetes course to diabetics and their support persons from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday and Thursday in the Bowman and Kirkland Conference Rooms on the hospital’s lower level.

MARION — Braelyn Miller was chosen Miss Teeny Pop 2018 during competition Saturday at River Valley High School. Miller also took overall honors in formal wear and talent categories.

Open Door Resource Center is bringing a chocolate walk back to downtown Upper Sandusky from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 27. The event will send ticket holders on a walking tour of Upper Sandusky with chocolate treats being given out by at least 20 participating businesses and organizations.

The American Heritage Girls recently held their award ceremony and potluck for their first year celebration. Girls received all the badges they earned throughout the year at the ceremony.

The Wyandot County Recycling Center and SWMD recently partnered with the Wyandot County Young Professionals to bring recycling to Wyanstock this year. Over 100 pounds of recyclables were recovered from the event.

FINDLAY — Blanchard Valley Hospital will host “Eliminate Acid Reflux, Heartburn and GERD,” part of the “Live and Learn” series, to educate the community about ways to remove acid reflux, heartburn and GERD through the new LINX procedure from 6-7 p.m. Aug. 28 in the Marathon Auditorium of BVH.
