MARION — Sixteen contestants vied for the title of Marion Popcorn Festival’s 2018 Little Miss Wee Pop at River Valley High School on Sunday morning. Little Miss Wee Pop is aimed at children up to 23 months old.

The Wyandot County Public Health Department was notified by the Ohio Department of Health of its first West Nile virus positive mosquito pool this summer. One positive mosquito pool was identified in the Carey area through the department’s regular mosquito trapping and testing efforts.

Ashlee and Joel Ratliff, of Upper Sandusky, are the parents of a girl. Oaklee Louise Ratliff was born at 2:33 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. She was 20 inches long and weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces. The maternal grandparents are Marcy and Greg Lynch. The paternal grandparents are Bonnie and Larry Ratliff.
