Dueling piano show Oct. 27 in Upper

The “T” and Rich Dueling Piano Show is coming to Upper Sandusky on Oct. 27 at the Moose Lodge. The event sponsored by the Wyandot County Community Foundation is a fun-filled evening of nonstop entertainment that encourages the audience to sing along, clap along and submit requests of their favorite songs and artists, all delivered with a comic twist.

Free car seat checks set for Saturday at park in Tiffin

TIFFIN — Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13. Many times, deaths and injuries can be prevented by the proper use of car seats, boosters and seat belts. Seneca County Safe Communities will host the Tiffin Fire Department to offer free car seat checks beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at Hedges-Boyer Park.

Harvest Fest Thursday

Fairhaven Community is hosting its 38th annual Harvest Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at 850 Marseilles Ave., Upper Sandusky. Join the volunteer service group for a gift shop, fresh garden produce, a rummage sale, a silent auction and a bake sale. The public is welcome.

Kennedy Quartet to play in Bucyrus

BUCYRUS — The Kennedy Quartet jazz band will play at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 120 S. Lane St., Bucyrus. In addition to Christian music, the band will play a variety of old standard music from the ’30s, ’40s and ’60s.

Humane Society: September 25, 2018

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a small yellow and white kitten, a young female hound mix and a brindle female husky-boxer mix.

Pitt Township Volunteer Fire receives 3 grants

HARPSTER — The Pitt Township Volunteer Fire Department recently received three grants. The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Safety Intervention Grant is a 3-to-1 dollar matching grant in the amount of $8,490 to purchase a remote monitor nozzle (Akron Brass Firefox) for the front of the brush truck.

Wynford hosting speaker

BUCYRUS — Wynford Local Schools will present “Internet Safety for Parents” with a light dinner from 5:30-6 p.m. and a presentation from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Wynford High School auditorium. No children are permitted. The event is free and open to all adults. It is intended to be relevant to all parents of kindergarten through college-age children.

Talk on Confederate money set

TIFFIN — “Confederate Money during the Civil War” will be the topic of speaker Bob Smithson of Lima for the Johnsons Island Civil War Roundtable at 7 p.m. Sunday at TJ Willies, Tiffin. Smithson does many Civil War presentations, but this one will have show and tell facts about the topic.
