Family Fun Day set in Marion park

MARION — The Marion Popcorn Festival is hosting a Poppin’ and Hoppin’ Color Fun Run and Family Fun Day on Oct. 13 in downtown Marion’s Founder’s Park. The Fun Run registration and check-in begins at 8 a.m. Registration is $25 and is accepted through the morning of the event.

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey will host several special Masses in October. The first Mass is noon Sunday in honor of the Feast of St. Gerard Majella. This Mass is for those who are expecting a child or trying to conceive. St. Gerard is the patron Saint of motherhood.

Fall Fest to be held Oct. 17

The Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities invites the public to come to its Provider Resource Fall Festival at Harrison Smith Park in Upper Sandusky from 3-6 p.m. Oct. 17. This will be a great opportunity to visit and meet DODD providers as well as other resources such as Jobs and Family Services and Ohio Means Jobs.

Humane Society: October 2, 2018

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a young gray short hair male cat, a tan female Chihuahua, a black female cat, a neutered male red Shiba Inu dog, a male black long haired retriever, an older female tri-color terrier mix and a blue Persian cat with copper colored eyes wearing a flea collar.

Fox, Hammer exchange vows

Ashley Fox and Benjamin Hammer exchanged wedding vows in a 4:30 p.m. ceremony Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at First Lutheran Church, Findlay, with the Rev. Robert Cochran officiating. The bride is a daughter of David and Tina Fox, of Forest, and the groom is a son of James and Linda Hammer, of Wayne.

Honor flight set for Tuesday

FINDLAY — The second of two 2018 flights of Flag City Honor Flight, the Findlay based hub of the National Honor Flight Network, will occur Tuesday. Seventy-nine veterans plus their guardians will journey to Washington, D.C., to visit the war memorials, including over 20 World War II veterans.

Meeting minutes: October 1, 2018

The Sept. 12 meeting of the Wyandot County PERI Chapter No. 88 was called to order by President Ruth Reier in the Wyandot Memorial Hospital Bowen-Kirkland room. The Lords’ Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance was said in unison. There were 15 members and one guest present.
