TOLEDO — Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. To help meet the constant demand for lifesaving blood donations and prevent blood shortages this winter, the American Red Cross is urging individuals and organizations to be winter heroes by hosting a blood drive.

The Wyandot County Safe Community Coalition is happy to report that there were no fatal traffic accidents on Wyandot County roadways from July through September and only one traffic fatality to that point this year. During the same nine-month period last year, there were two traffic fatalities reported in the county.

MELMORE — The Mohawk Historical Society will present an evening of remastered home movies from the collection of Paul Konkle and Dr. Claude Montgomery beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Melmore Town Hall. The event is free, and the general public is invited to attend.
