United Way having #Give2 challenge

MARION — This holiday season, the United Ways in Crawford, Marion and Wyandot counties invite their communities to join the #Give2 challenge. A collaborative effort between the three organizations, the #Give2 challenge encourages individuals to make a donation to their local United Way equal to just two hours of their pay.

Crawford Park District sets holiday hours

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District office and the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center will observe the following holiday hours: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 24, closed Dec. 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 31 and closed Jan. 1. The Nature Center will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 26-29. The Nature Center is closed on Sundays until April.

Public invited to OLC benefit game

CAREY — Our Lady of Consolation School is going to participate in a school-wide activity that is largely based on giving back to others to help the needy during Christmas on Dec. 21. The activity is based on anonymous service to help those in need in receiving a Christmas meal.

Royal Reunion slated Tuesday

BUCYRUS — Crawford College Connection and the Wynford guidance department, faculty, administration and students want college freshmen to attend the 16th annual Royal Reunion on Dec. 18. College freshmen should arrive by 11 a.m. to speak to Wynford High School Principal Chris Solis about high school preparation for college and college experience. Pizza will be provided.

Guest speaker at Harpster UMC Sunday

HARPSTER — The Rev. Steve Burchett will be presenting the Sunday morning message at 10:25 a.m. this week at Harpster United Methodist Church. Burchett is a graduate of Ridgedale High School, Cedarville College and Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Special visit with Santa featured

ARC of Wyandot County held a special needs family-friendly visit from Santa on Saturday. Visiting Santa is Wesley Brammell, a son of Jaynee and Devon Bramell of Upper Sandusky. Carey, Mohawk and Upper Sandusky school students and their families were invited to the event, which was held at Savory Sweet Catering in Sycamore.

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has announced upcoming events. Just Hike It is 10 a.m. Saturday at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598, located 3 miles north of U.S. 30. There are many benefits to getting outside and taking a hike, such as lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, to increasing happiness levels and curbing depression.
