FINDLAY — Stephanie and Tim Wiegand, of Findlay, are the parents of a boy. Maverick John Wiegand was born at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.

Humane Society: February 13, 2018

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Tuesday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a male Norwegian elkhound, a white male Chihuahua mix with tan spots, an older tan toy poodle, a neutered male chocolate Lab, a brown and white male pit bull, an older red Pomeranian, a brown male Chihuahua and a brindle and white male boxer.

NCOESC receives 2 new Rifton chairs

TIFFIN — The North Central Ohio Educational Service Center recently received two Rifton Activity Hi-Low Chairs from Matt Domer, account manager for the Rifton Company. Thanks to Robin Snopik, a physical therapist for the NCOESC, who invited the Rifton company for an in-service, the NCOESC has two new chairs at no cost.

Master Gardener classes set

KENTON — The Allen County and Hardin County Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener volunteers will partner to host a Master Gardener volunteer training course for new Master Gardener volunteers this spring.

Lenten luncheons upcoming

Lenten Luncheons for Wyandot County Women will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Feb. 14, 21 and 28 as well as on March 7, 14 and 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky. On Valentine’s Day, the event host will be Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church, the menu is soup and salad and the speaker is Rita Stewart.

WMH Foundation giving scholarships

The Wyandot Memorial Hospital Foundation will award five $1,000 scholarships this spring to Wyandot County residents planning careers in healthcare. Scholarship applications are available at the hospital’s information desk in the lobby and are due March 15.

Master Gardner volunteer training available

KENTON — The Allen County and Hardin County Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener volunteers will partner to host a Master Gardener volunteer training course for new Master Gardener volunteers this spring. The OSU Extension Master Gardener volunteer program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested Ohio residents who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for residents through their local OSU Extension county office.
