The Wyandot Memorial Hospital Foundation will award five $1,000 scholarships this spring to Wyandot County residents planning careers in healthcare. Scholarship applications are available at the hospital’s information desk in the lobby and are due March 15.

A three-week Grief Journey Class and seminar will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 6, 13 and 20 in room 111 at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church located at 108 Malabar Drive in Upper Sandusky.

KENTON — The Allen County and Hardin County Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener volunteers will partner to host a Master Gardener volunteer training course for new Master Gardener volunteers this spring. The OSU Extension Master Gardener volunteer program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested Ohio residents who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for residents through their local OSU Extension county office.

BUCYRUS — Troopers are trained to look beyond the initial traffic stop for possible indicators of criminal activity. In 2017, the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a wide range of felony offenses and saw an increase in total drug arrests from 2016.

The Ohio State University 4-H Advisory Council pancake and sausage meal is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds dining hall. The meal includes all-you-can-eat pancakes.

The Wellness Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering its Living with Diabetes course to diabetics and their support persons from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Bowman and Kirkland Conference Rooms on the hospital’s lower level.

The Home Energy Assistance Program Winter Crisis Program was created to provide financial assistance, one time per heating season, to income eligible households who are threatened with disconnection of their heating source, have service already disconnected, need to establish new service, seek to transfer service, or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel.
