Living with Diabetes being held at WMH

The Wellness Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering its Living with Diabetes course to diabetics and their support persons from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday and Thursday in the Cafe Room next to the cafeteria on the hospital’s lower level.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a miniature male blue merle Australian shepherd, a brindle and white neutered male pit bull, a large male black Lab, a tri-color male beagle, a black and white male border collie, a grey female husky, a black and white neutered male cat, and a spayed female black cat with white paws.

Safe Communities Coalition reminds people to drive sober during holidays

The holidays are a time for friends and family to come together and celebrate, and nothing could ruin the holiday season more than a death due to drinking and driving. To spread the message about the dangers of drunk driving, the Wyandot County Safe Communities Coalition and local law enforcement agencies want to encourage people to “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” this holiday season.

HEAP Winter Crisis Program can provide assistance with heating costs

FINDLAY — The Hancock Hardin Wyandot Putnam Community Action Commission’s HEAP 2019 Winter Crisis Program continues through March 31 — as long as funds remain available. This program was created to provide financial assistance, one time per heating season, to income eligible households who are threatened with disconnection of their heating source, have service already disconnected, need to establish new service, seek to transfer service or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel.

Bucyrus post names trooper of year

BUCYRUS — Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Mark H. McLaughlin has been selected as the 2018 Bucyrus Post Trooper of the Year. The selection of Trooper McLaughlin, 42, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2018 at the Marion Post.
