Shrine announces special October Masses

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, will host several special Masses in October. The first Mass is 7 p.m. Oct. 11 for hope and healing. This Mass is for cancer victims, survivors, caregivers and their loved ones. Following Mass, the Friars will be available for special healing prayers with individual visitors and families. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick also will be available. Since October is known as breast cancer awareness month, the church especially prays for those with this disease.

Ford test drives support OLC on Oct 12

Test drive a Ford to help the Our Lady of Consolation eighth grade raise money toward its trip to Washington D.C. in spring 2020. For every test drive from 9:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct.12, the Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to the school toward the trip.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Wednesday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a tri-color male Australian shepherd, a white male west highland white terrier, a white and tan neutered male long hair cat, a female gray tiger cat, and a red and white 13-year-old female basset hound.
