McQuown’s drug, alcohol video wins 3rd in state competition

While most students who study broadcasting think of television when faced with a class project, Upper Sandusky High School senior Delaney McQuown used a lesser-known type of video art to recently go home a winner. McQuown was recognized April 20 as the third-place winner of a video competition sponsored by the Drug Free Action Alliance, Start Talking! campaign and Verizon.

Blue Devils score 3 in 6th to defeat Senecas

CAREY — Jordan Dasher delivered a two-run double in the sixth inning and Carey topped Tiffin Calvert, 4-1, in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday. The Blue Devils (5-6) won their third straight, managing to score one run off Kent State commit Peyton Deats in the third inning and then beating the Senecas after he was replaced.

Carey BOE considers moving varsity softball games

CAREY — A discussion about moving Carey varsity softball games closer to the school did not result in a decision after a park board public hearing Sunday. Parks Director Brian Spencer said Mayor Jennifer Rathburn and council member Mellisa Cole will compare varsity softball and little league schedules to see if the move is possible.

North Baltimore wins 5-3

MOUNT BLANCHARD — North Baltimore plated three runs in the first inning and held the lead until the end of a 5-3 Blanchard Valley Conference game against Riverdale on Monday. An RBI single put the Tigers up 1-0 before a wild pitch on strike three scored two additional runs.
