Mother Nature slammed Upper Sandusky and much of the state with torrential downpours in the past two weeks, and residents have flooded city officials with questions about standing water on the city’s west side.

Wyandot County Commissioners on Monday accepted a $92,900 bid from Damschroder Roofing Inc. to complete the second phase of a roofing project at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Wyandot East Fire and Rescue and the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office responded to an single-car injury crash in the 2000 block of TH 55 west of Nevada on Monday afternoon.

CAREY — Hundreds of people packed Memorial Park on Sunday afternoon to watch baseball and show support for the family of a fallen player. Carey Youth Baseball dedicated a new scoreboard at the park in memory of Ethan Ickes during a ceremony Sunday prior to all local teams taking the field.

A portion of North Third Street remains closed while city employees investigate the cause of a sinkhole discovered Saturday afternoon. Wastewater collection supervisor Dave Schneider said the road has a single sewer below the street and the city should know the cause and have the street repaired in the next week.
