Arlington closes out win in final 2 minutes

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale and Arlington meet in a Division IV sectional final matchup a week from Saturday at Hopewell-Loudon. Watching their regular season match on Thursday, one would have thought it was the tournament matchup as both teams played like their seasons were on the line, exchanging the lead 15 times before Arlington used a 7-0 run in the final two minutes to pull out a 72-64 victory.

Sycamore Fire receives 2 grants

SYCAMORE — Fire Chief Rodney Clinger reported the Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department had received two grants Tuesday at the Sycamore Village Council meeting. The department received a grant from the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation for $30,900 for Stryker power cots, which dramatically reduce strenuous lifting and the associated risk of back injury.

NORTH ROBINSON — By the looks of things Tuesday night, Upper Sandusky has put its shooting slump far behind it at just the right time. The Rams put up 54 points in the first half on the way to an easy 71-41 victory at Colonel Crawford to wrap up the regular season.

Hall hired as Upper football coach

Russell Hall featured

Russell Hall did not expect to ever be a head coach when he was hired as an assistant at Upper Sandusky for the 2008 season, but 10 years later, he is. Hall was hired to lead the Rams during Monday night’s Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools Board meeting.
