The Wyandot Classics and Cruisers made a massive $25,500 donation to Hospice of Wyandot County following a banquet Thursday evening at Fairhaven Community. The money was raised from the 2018 Autumn Cruise in Upper Sandusky.

FOSTORIA — Certainly some of it had to do with Tiffin Calvert, but Mohawk did not look itself Thursday. The Senecas rallied from a first-set deficit and then handed the Warriors their only sweep of the season, 25-23, 25-15, 25-22, in the Division IV district final at Fostoria.

Dick Eyestone, Tana Rowland and Jan Rish pose with a nearly-completed Big Ben clock tower, which is part of the Peter Pan set for the Elks Halloween walk-through this year. The walk-through begins at 6 p.m. Saturday and will take young trick-or-treaters from London to the magical realm of Neverland before finishing with drinks and cookies.

FINDLAY — There were few tears after Carey’s Division IV district semifinal loss to McComb on Monday night at Findlay. While it was the end of the season, it was not the end of the careers for any of the Blue Devils team that has no seniors, and they had shown just how good they might be next year by hanging tough with the No. 2 seed Panthers in the 25-17, 22-25, 25-17, 25-20 loss.
