Wynford BOE member ready to pass the torch

A passion to serve

BUCYRUS — Rhonda Rowland bleeds Wynford Royal Blue, and that’s not likely to change, even after she steps down from her role on the Wynford Local School District Board of Education when her term ends this year. Rowland joked that many find it hard to believe she is a 1984 Bucyrus High School graduate, not to mention was named homecoming queen, because of her love for Wynford. But after marrying her husband, a Wynford graduate, and moving into the district in 1987, she made up her mind that she would get involved with the Wynford school district.

Warriors use big plays to take victory over Colonel Crawford

Not going down easy

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Warriors didn’t let some early adversity keep them down for long Friday night in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference football game against Colonel Crawford at Mohawk. The Warriors fumbled the ball on their first offensive play of the game, helping give Colonel Crawford an early lead, but the Warriors utilized some big plays in the passing game in the first half and some long runs in the second half to walk away with a critical 32-25 victory.
