The Blue Devils came away the girls champions in the meet.Daily Chief-Union/Brian Hemminger NEW WASHINGTON — Lexi Plott set a new school and meet record in the high jump as Carey’s girls were crowned champions of the Buckeye Central Stache Dash on Friday. Plott topped 5-7.25. No other competitors went higher than 5-0. The Blue Devils finished with 111.5 points to come out in front of Port Clinton at 100 points. Mohawk was sixth with 57 points. Abbie Bushong added a win in the discus, throwing 109-5. She was second in the shot put at 33-2.5. Macy Hoepf was second in the long jump, leaping 15-7. Chloe Etzinger was third in the 1600 run in 5:42.37 and third in the 3200 run in 12:23.07. Eliza Weinandy was fourth in the 100 dash in 13.68, and Tristen Courtad came in fourth in the 100 hurdles in 17.75. The Blue Devils had third-place finishes in the 800 relay (1:50.31) and the 1600 relay (4:24.18) and were fourth in the 400 relay (53.44). A late addition to the team this season, Emily Klopp paced Mohawk’s girls by winning the shot put with a throw of 33-6.25. She was third in the discus at 99-10. Brooklen Helton came in third in the 400 dash in 1:01.96. Mohawk’s 1600 relay team was runner-up in 4:24.18. The 3200 relay team finished third in 10:55.46. Brody Baker won the 300 hurdles in 43.52 and took second in the 110 hurdles in 16.97. The Blue Devils were first in the 1600 relay in 3:41.05 and fourth in the 800 relay in 1:37.16. Bryce Puckett came in fourth in the 110 hurdles in 17.77 and fourth in the 300 hurdles in 44.94. Mohawk’s Brayden Cleveland set a meet record in the 1600 run, winning 4:42.04, and also was the 3200 run champion in 10:35.35. Zaiden Fry came in fourth in the 100 dash in 11.97. The Warriors were third in the 400 relay in 46.82, third in the 1600 relay in 3:48.28 and third in the 3200 relay in 9:10.22. Carey hosts Wynford in a dual at 4:30 p.m. Monday. Mohawk and Upper Sandusky travel to Bucyrus for a tri-meet at the same time.
