DD board hosts color fun run

0

The Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities is hosting a community-wide Abilities Shine Color Fun Run to kickoff Developmental Disabilities Awareness month on March 2 at Harrison Smith Park in Upper Sandusky.

Registration starts at 2 p.m. and the race will kick off at 3 p.m. The entry fee for the color fun run will be a donation of a food or pantry item to help “Stuff the Bus” for Open Door Food Pantry.

The color fun run kicks off the month-long celebration of National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. The color fun run is for everyone. Attendees can walk, ride or run through the event.

The event is a “fun” run, meaning time and distance are not going to be recorded. Participants will be dusted by colorful powder as they go through the paths of Harrison Smith Park. If participants do not want to get colored in powder, a clean bubble path is also available.

There will be a “Squeaky Clean Zone,” as well as a shirt color-setting station, if one wishes for their shirt to be permanently colored. A limited amount of T-shirts will be available on the race day to purchase, while supplies last. There will also be a “Let it Shine” photo booth for participants.

Thank you to all sponsors for contributing to the Color Fun Run. To see an extensive list or to find out more information, visit Wyandot DD’s Facebook page to follow along with the event.

Wyandot DD serves approximately 238 eligible children and adults in Wyandot County through a wide range of programming, supports and services.
