USMS hosting wrestling event

Upper Sandusky Middle School, 390 W. Walker St., will host the Cory Washburn Memorial wrestling tournament at 10 a.m. March 19. Proceeds will go to the eighth grade class trip to Washington, D.C.

Under the spotlight on senior night, Mohawk’s Cole Draper pulled through against fellow state qualifier Noah Clary for a 7-6 ultimate tiebreaker victory to give the two-time reigning N10 champion Warriors a 30-29 victory against Upper Sandusky in a dual match Tuesday night.

ATTICA — Zach Hayman scored 16 points, and Mohawk defeated Seneca East, 59-53, in overtime in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game Tuesday night. Keith Jenkins added 10 points, and Billy Dunlap and Brandon Flood had eight points each in a balanced scoring attack that had seven players score five or more points.

Summit leads Carey past BC

CAREY — Garrett Summit hit four 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead Carey to a 64-59 victory against Buckeye Central on Tuesday night. Though he has been selective in when he shoots, Summit leads the Northern 10 Athletic Conference in 3-point percentage (9 of 16).
