John and Barbara Curlis of Upper Sandusky will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday. They were married Aug. 21, 1965 at the former St. Peter’s Church in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Frederick Schill officiating.

CRESTLINE — A program on viewing the night sky will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598, Crestline. Crawford Park District volunteers will join members of the Richland Astronomical Society as they share their knowledge and telescope skills with those interested in celestial sights.

A lawn fete fundraiser is scheduled for 4:30-7 p.m. Saturday at Community Christian Center, 10657 TH 122, Upper Sandusky. The event will benefit Open Door Resource Center.

The Upper Sandusky High School class of 1975 recently met for its 40th reunion in Viceroy Hall at Shotzy’s Bar and Grille, Upper Sandusky. In all, 74 classmates attended the reunion, with a total of 106 including spouses and guests.

Ohio may become the first state in the Midwest to legalize both medicinal and recreational marijuana use. The proposed constitutional amendment to legalize marijuana for medical and recreational purposes will be on the November ballot this year.
