Old photos of Sycamore pool to be shared Sept. 22

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Historical Society will share some of its collection of hundreds of vintage pictures from the Sycamore Community Pool at 7 p.m. Sept. 22 at the shelter house at Veterans Memorial Park. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Sycamore community swimming pool took place June 13, 1966, according to the historical society.

Meeting minutes: September 14, 2016

MARSEILLES — Eleven members of Beta Tri Sigma recently met at Lovena’s Greenhouse near Marseilles. Jeff Trautwein explained types of plants and shared information about the growing season, followed by a tour of the gardens and ponds.

Seasonal flu clinics scheduled in county

Wyandot County Public Health will begin offering seasonal influenza vaccines for the 2016-17 flu season at the Wyandot County Fair. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends routine annual influenza vaccination for all people 6 months of age and older who do not have contraindications to the vaccine, such as a severe allergy to chicken eggs; severe reaction after a previous dose of flu vaccine; those who developed Guillain-Barre syndrome six weeks after a previous dose of influenza vaccine; infants younger than 6 months of age; and those with a moderate to severe illness.

Latta to host meeting

BOWLING GREEN — Congressman Bob Latta is inviting high school students and their families to an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 in the cafeteria at Findlay High School Cafeteria to learn details about the United States Military Service Academy nomination and appointment process.

Family Day slated at OLC

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, will continue the tradition of the annual Family Pilgrimage Day on Sept. 25. Pastoral care for families and assistance for families to grow in faith together has been a priority of Pope Francis, according to a press release from OLC.

Humane Society: September 13, 2016

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Sept. 10 and is correct as of that date: Pets reported as missing since the previous report that have not been found include a tan neutered male older chihuahua, a brown neutered male chihuahua, a gray male cat, a black and white male Pomeranian-chihuahua mix, a young tri-color female King Charles spaniel, a black and tan female hound and a black and white neutered male cat.
