Open Door Fun Run set for June 30

Open Door Resource Center is holding its annual Colorblast Fun Walk/Run on June 30 at Harrison Smith Park in Upper Sandusky. This year the event will include games for all ages, food and music performed by Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church.

For the second year in a row, the Upper Sandusky Middle School creative writing team has sent students to compete at the state level. Aidan Brugmann and Hannah Dulaney earned that distinction this year after Hannah Herring did so last year.

Sichko coming back to Shrine

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, continues to focus this year on the theme of “Consolation.” Father Jim Sichko will be the guest celebrant and preacher at the 5:30 pm. June 30 Mass and the 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon Mass July 1.

Foundation seeks grant applicants

The Wyandot County Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 2018 grant program and will be awarding grants to Wyandot County 501(c)(3) organizations, schools or governmental units to support their programs. Grant applications for specific projects that meet the educational, cultural, health, social services or recreational needs of Wyandot County residents will be considered.

Fret Mashers concert slated

The public is invited to hear the local band Fret Mashers in a free concert at 7 p.m. Friday at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. Meet on the back lawn of the library to hear great acoustic country folk and bluegrass music.
