The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Tuesday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a blue merle male Australian shepherd, a neutered male brindle and white pit bull and a large male black Lab.

Volunteers needed to give assistance in tax preparation

The AARP-sponsored team in conjunction with council on aging and the Trinity EUM Church is gearing up for doing free tax preparation and they can use help. From doing 60 returns the first year, they now do over 400 returns. As a volunteer the main benefit is helping others but they also will get travel expense paid.

First National Bank of Sycamore hosting Christmas Cheer program

SYCAMORE — First National Bank of Sycamore once again is kicking off its community project appropriately named Christmas Cheer. In the spirit of Christmas, the bank is collecting monetary donations at each of its full-service locations in Sycamore, McCutchenville and New Riegel, along with its own monetary contributions that in turn will be used to purchase much needed and appreciated items for residents in area nursing homes.

Senior home repair funds available

ONTARIO — The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging Inc. has funding available for home repairs for those age 60 and older who qualify based on their combined monthly income. Types of home repairs include furnace repair or replacement, bathroom accessibility modifications and other necessary home repairs.

Christmas at Kingwood taking place

MANSFIELD — Kingwood Center Gardens has announced the return of Christmas at Kingwood, the spectacular indoor and outdoor holiday experience. Each night, visitors will enjoy magical Christmas lights and decorations from the decked rooms of Kingwood Hall, the Tree Walk featuring trees and wreaths by local businesses, a special Greenhouse display and the outdoor Trail of Lights.
